Strengthening Israel's social periphery

A fundraising campaign by the I-school association, which works to equalize opportunities for students from the socio-geographic periphery by providing private lessons, was launched. A festive launch event was held this weekend for the I-school association's fundraising campaign.

Dana Harel, Alon Veseli, Uri Knafo, Gal Ashur, Shira Amir, and Liora Bergwerk met during their degree studies, where they were exposed to the difficulty of students from the periphery to integrate into the labor market due to gaps in education. During the Corona period, they founded the I-school association, which connects people from the center in key positions in the labor market (high-tech workers, lawyers, etc.), and students from the periphery with complex socio-economic backgrounds.

These meet with them on a weekly basis and give them private lessons in English and math. So far, thousands of students and thousands of volunteers have gone through the program, and now, with the start of the school year, the organization is embarking on a mass recruitment drive with the aim of reaching all schools in the periphery and increasing the pool of volunteers.
